Villages Conference in San Diego and Presentation in Washington DC
Updated: Apr 11, 2019

Helpful Village has been operating in California for several years, but only recently started operations in the DC area. A handful of WAVE Villages have already joined! We are thrilled to be headed to DC to support our continued growth there! Sydney, our Customer Success Manager, and Manuel, Founder and CEO, will be making the trip to DC and organizing a live presentation of Helpful Village.
The presentation includes an overview of the company’s vision and an interactive demo of the online platform that is designed for Executive Directors and Board Members. The focus will be showing how Villages across the nation are using easy-to-use technology to reduce their costs through automation and having staff focus on high-value tasks.
In addition, to desktop, mobile, and tablet technologies and we are really excited to include in our demo the recent add-on we announced at the Village to Village conference in San
Diego last month: Villagers can now talk to their Village using Amazon Alexa with a sentence as simple as “Alexa, ask my Village what’s up today?”
There will be a Q&A at the end to answer all questions.
Place of location:
Belle Haven Country Club
6023 Fort Hunt Road
Alexandria, VA 22307

We wanted to send out a recap about the National Village Gathering in San Diego. We had amazing weather and an even better event! The days were packed with great lectures, thought-provoking conversations, and quite a few laughs with new friends and old.
We had a fabulous turn out for our demo presentation at the conference and it was really fun seeing plenty of new and as well as all the familiar faces there! We wanted to share our announcement we made at the presentation with everyone!
We are excited to present Amazon Alexa will be compatible with Helpful Village platforms. We are thrilled to have this additional way to interact with a Village. Some Villager’s do not use computers, some do not use tablets nor smartphones. So we thought we could bring the Village closer to the Villager by using voice and sentences as simple as: “Alexa, ask my Village...”
We know that we have such a wonderful and dynamic group of Villages that like seeing things happen fast, however, for this new initiative a little patience will be needed. Before we roll out this new service to all Villages, we need to test the Alexa app with a small focus group and learn more about human behavior and natural language communication and ultimately refined the app to make sure it is ready to be used by a large group of people.
'Alexa, when is the next HVUG meeting?'
Join our next Users Group Meeting! The HVUG meeting will be held on Wednesday, November 28th at 11 am PST / 2 pm EST.

I always appreciate articles that explain online gaming topics in a simple and useful way. jaya9 can be a helpful search term for readers looking for information about platform features, navigation, account access, and general usability.
An thoughtful recap of the Villages Conference and the effort to bring accessible technology into community-based support. The discussion around voice interaction was especially interesting because not everyone is comfortable using computers, tablets, or smartphones. Designing attn2detail around real users makes technology more inclusive. I also appreciated that came to mind here, since thoughtful details often make services easier to use.
The integration of voice technology like Alexa is particularly interesting because it facilitates access to Village services for people who do not frequently use smartphones or computers. After exploring these accessibility solutions, Cool Games can also be a simple option for enjoying some entertainment.
I've seen how voice assistants can make technology much more accessible for people who aren't comfortable with computers or smartphones. It's exciting to see Helpful Village growing, and while we wait for the rollout, the Polytrack game has been a fun way for our family to enjoy simple, interactive technology together.
Geometric shapes, glowing obstacles, and dynamic lighting effects make every stage visually engaging while keeping the player's attention focused on the space waves path ahead. Combined with smooth animations and responsive controls, the presentation creates an immersive arcade experience that feels modern and polished.
